India’s 1st Aviation Park will come up in Gujarat

The Gujarat Government has planned to set up India’s first Aviation Park in the state, which will include facilities such as airstrip, training school, helipad and space for manufacturing units.

The Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure Company Ltd (GUJSAIL) will undertake this project. The state-owned company has already identified land near Bagodara village near Ahmedabad.

The main goal of the Aviation Park would be to spread awareness about the aviation sector among investors, students as well as the people. It would also encourage the manufacturing activities related to the sector.

The first phase of the park may get operational by the end of 2016-17 financial year. The government is trying to build this park on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
