IPL Verdict: Gurunath Meiyappan, Raj Kundra suspended for Life

The Justice Lodha Committee appointed by the Supreme Court, has dismissed all defence offered by former CSK owner and N Srinivasan’s son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan and held him guilty while pronouncing the verdict on IPL spot fixing scandal. Meiyappan was banned for life from all activities related to cricket matches.

Meiyappan declared ineligible for participation in any cricket activities for 5 years. He was accused of placing multiple bettings and indulging in gross misconduct by bringing disrepute to the game of cricket. He was part and parcel of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the panel said.

Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra was also found guilty of misconduct with betting. He was suspended for life from all cricket matches related to BCCI. Kundra was also declared ineligible to participate in any cricket activities for 5 years.
