ISRO successfully launches PSLV-C33

PSLV-C33Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed the successful launch of PSLV-C33 carrying 7th navigation satellite IRNSS-1G to complete the landmark mission for a regional navigational system, saying it will help not only India but also fellow SAARC nations.

In a message to Shri A.S. Kiran Kumar, Chairman of ISRO, the President has said, “I extend my hearty congratulations to you and your entire team at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on the successful launch of PSLV-C33 carrying IRNSS-1G, the seventh and final in the series of navigation satellites of the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS).

The launch of PSLV-C33 is an important landmark in our space programme with India now joining the small group of nations having their own regional satellite navigation system. It demonstrates, yet again, India’s growing capabilities in space launch technology. The nation is proud of this achievement.

The Vice President of India, Shri M. Hamid Ansari has congratulated the ISRO said, “I offer my congratulations to the Scientists, Engineers and Technicians of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for the successful launch of the PSLV-C33 carrying IRNSS-1G, the seventh and the final satellite in the seven satellite IRNSS constellation.

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) plans to launch 22 satellites onboard Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, PSLV-C34. These satellites include an earth observation satellite of India (weighing about 710 kg) as primary payload, two nano satellites developed by Indian students (weighing about 2.5 kg) and 19 satellites from four foreign countries viz. Canada (2 Nos., weighing 115 kg), Germany (3 Nos., weighing 155 kg), Indonesia (1 No., weighing 120 kg) & USA (13 Nos., weighing 195 kg) as co-passengers.
