JNU Student Union President Kanhaiya Kumar Arrested

In a big development, Kanhaiya Kumar (AISF), President of Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, has been arrested on sedition charges over the anti-India protests in support of slain terrorist Afzal Guru. He has been sent to three-day police custody by a Delhi court.

The move came after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh ordered stern action against the students that staged anti-India protests at the JNU campus on the death anniversary of Afzal Guru, who was hanged for his involvement in 2001 Parliament attack.

Apart from Kanhaiya Kumar, several other JNU students have also been booked and could be arrested soon.
