Lalu Yadav becomes No. 1 in Bihar, BJP finishes 3rd

Lalu PrasadRJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was written off in Bihar after his conviction in the fodder scam, emerged as the gamechanger in 2015 assembly polls, as he helped Nitish Kumar sweep the elections. Surprisingly, Lalu Yadav’s RJD has emerged ad No. 1 in Bihar.

RJD is leading in 76 seats, while Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) is leading in 71 seats. BJP is leading in just 57 seats although they contested in 160 seats. JD(U) and RJD contested in 101 seats each.

Congress contested in 41 seats and increased its tally to 23 from 4 in 2010. Paswan’s LJP, Kushwaha’s RLSP and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM failed miserably. They contested in 83 seats together, but won just 8 seats. LJP won in 2 seats, followed by RLSP 3 and HAM 2.

As per the latest trends, Grand Alliance is leading in 170 seats, while NDA is leading in 64 seats. Others are leading in 9 seats.
