Lok Sabha passes Resolution on Kashmir, appeals for Peace

The Lok Sabha on Friday adopted an unanimous resolution on prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir, and appealed to all sections of society to work for the early restoration of normalcy and harmony in the Kashmir valley.

The Lower House also called for restoring confidence in people in general and youth in particular in the valley.

The resolution, read out by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, expressed serious concern over prolonged curfew, violence and loss of lives there. It also said the House has a firm view that there cannot be any compromise on India’s unity, integrity and national security.

Earlier, the Rajya Sabha had also passed similar resolution vowing to instill confidence among the residents of the valley.
