ONI Bureau:  —–   On the basis of a complaint lodged by assistant conservator of forests of Chilika Dev. Authority, helicopter of former BJP MP Jay Panda seized, inquiry initiated against him,on charges of violating flight rules &entering no flying eco sensitive zone of Chilika lake on Sept 15.

—–   Jay Panda Chopper Seizure: “We cannot say whether former MP Jay Panda flew over the restricted area but he had certainly given us his flight plan. He started at 08:46 hrs from Bhubaneswar & landed back at 13:26 hrs,” says SC Hota, Director of BPI Airport.

—–   Chilika is not a ‘no flying zone’ as per civil aviation ministry and if it is, why was CM Naveen Patnaik seen flying over the same zone a few months ago? questioned a tweep.
