Mumbai Court rejects Teesta Setalvad’s Interim Bail Plea

In a massive jolt to activist Teesta Setalvad, his interim bail plea has been rejected by a Mumbai Sessions court today. The CBI had registered a case against Setalvad and her NGO for alleged violation of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) in receiving funds from abroad. His house and office were raided by the investigating agency on July 14. The FIR also named Setalvad’s husband Javed Anand and another person Gulam Mohammed Peshimam, both Directors in Sabrang Communications and Publishing.
