Music Legend Ravindra Jain dies at 71

Ravindra-JainRenowned Music Director, Composer and Lyricist Ravindra Jain died at the age of 71. He breathed his last at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital this afternoon. He was suffering from a urinary infection, which caused a problem in his kidney.

Ravindra Jain, who was admitted to Wockhardt Hospital in Nagpur where he had gone to attend a programme, was shifted to Mumbai on Wednesday after his condition deteriorated. The Music Legend had been unwell for a long time. He was being treated at the same Lilavati Hospital for various ailments.

Ravindra Jain composed music for hit films such as “Chor Machaye Shor”, “Geet Gaata Chal”, “Chitchor”, “Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se”, “Ram Teri Ganga Maili”, “Do Jasoos” and “Heena”. He later shifted his focus to mythological movies and serials. He composed music and sang for most popular TV serial, “Ramayan”. He composed music for many television serials, mainly under the banner of Sagar Films, throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.

He is survived by his wife and poetess Divya Jain and a son named Aayushman Jain.
