Now, Anupam Kher rejects Visa offered by Pakistan

After Pakistan denied visa to Bollywood Actor Anupam Kher to attend the Karachi Literature Festival, there was a huge uproar. Under fire, Pakistan High Commissioner to India, Mr. Abdul Basit offered visa to Kher yesterday. But, Anupam declined the offer, saying he has given away those dates now.

“Thank you Mr. Abdul Basit for your call and offering me a visa to visit Karachi. I appreciate it. Unfortunately, I have given away those dates now,” tweeted Anupam Kher.

Anupam Kher was one of the 18 Indians invited to attend the four-day Karachi Literature Festival. But, because of anti-Separatist and pro-Kashmiri Pandit stand, Pakistan Government has denied visa to Anupam, while granting the same to 17 others, including Salman Khurshid, Barkha Dutt and Nandita Das.

Kher was denied a Pakistani visa in May 2015 as well, when he was supposed to visit Pakistan for an event organised by an NGO.
