Parliamentary panel to visit Rajasthan, Maharashtra

New Delhi, Jan 26: A committee of 30 MPs will undertake a six-day visit to Rajasthan and Maharashtra from Wednesday to review the functioning of various organisations, an official said.

“The parliamentary standing committee on personnel, public grievances, law and justice, consisting of 10 MPs from the Rajya Sabha and 20 MPs from the Lok Sabha will visit several organisations like Rajasthan Electronics and Instrumentation Ltd. on the status of the public grievance redressal mechanism,” said an official statement here.

The panel will examine on January 28 and 29 the government’s reservation policy in central government organisations, Rajasthan High Court complex and National Law University, Jodhpur.

It will proceed to Mumbai on Friday (January 29) and visit organisations like Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers, SIDBI, Industrial Development Bank of India, MTNL, and Cotton Corporation of India.

The committee will visit the Nagpur central jail on Sunday (January 31) to review the functioning of the legal aid clinic in the jail and return to New Delhi on Monday.  (IANS)
