PM Modi may announce OROP Implementation during I-Day Speech

According to the buzz in media circle, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may announce the implementation of ‘One Rank, One Pension’ or OROP scheme during his Red Fort speech on India’s 69th Independence Day.

Meanwhile, the hunger strike by War Veterans, which has been going on for 61 days, has taken a political turn after the NDMC and Delhi Police tried to shift their protest venue because of I-Day celebrations. There was a minor scuffle, as the protesters refused to leave the venue. Later, police allowed a certain number (25) of Ex-Servicemen to be present in the area and removed some tents.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress have now started fishing in the troubled waters. Kejriwal has demanded immediate implementation of OROP, while Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is going to Jantar Mantar to express solidarity with them.
