Prashant Bhushan, Senior SC Lawyers approach CJI on Yakub Memon

Just a few hours before the hanging of Yakub Memon, last ditch effort is being made by eminent lawyers Prashant Bhushan, Indira Jaising, Brinda Grover, Yug Choudhury and Nitya Ramakrishnan to save his life, as they are now trying to get a late night appointment with Chief Justice of India (CJI) HL Dattu.

They seek a 14-day stay on the execution of Yakub Memon. Yakub’s lawyer Raju Ramachandran is also present there. Registrar of the Supreme Court also arrived at the CJI’s residence. CJI may hear the case at around 2 AM. Other judges may be called in.
