President Ram Nath Kovind gives nod to 10% Quota Bill for General category

ONI Bureau:  President Ram Nath Kovind has given his nod to the quota bill which paves way for 10% quota in jobs and education for the economically weaker section in the general category.

With the President’s assent, the bill has officially become a law. the 124th Constitution Amendment Bill will provides reservation to those who earn an income less than 8 lakh per annum or have agricultural land that is less than 5 acres.

The quota will be over and above the existing 50% reservation to SCs, STs and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
