Rajya Sabha clears Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill

The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday night approved the historic Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill, known as The Constitution (122nd Amendment) Bill, 2014.

The bill was passed after 9 p.m., after a scheduled five hours of debate. The 122nd Amendment Bill, 2014 was approved by the Rajya Sabha with 203 votes.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has thanked the leaders and members of all the parties on the occasion of passage of the GST Bill in the Rajya Sabha.
