Representatives of 12 States attend High Level Meet on ISIS Threat

ISIS-IndiaThe Union Home Ministry has convened a high-level meeting of 12 states over the threat from the ISIS (Islamic State) terrorists. The IS has already made its presence felt in India and trying to strengthen its base. Home Secretaries and DGPs of Delhi, J&K, Utar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Karnataka and Gujarat attended the meet.

The focus would be on how to respond quickly to any report of the youth planning to join ISIS. Recently, the cops prevented 17 people from travelling to Syria to join the IS. Similar reports were received from Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra too.

As per the official reports, 5 youths from India have already joined the IS, while 25 others want to be part of it. The government has kept an eye on 70 people, who are being attracted to the ISIS.
