RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s Statements twisted for Bihar Polls

A couple of days ago, there was a huge uproar over RSS Chief’s statement on existing reservation policy. As the leading newspapers twisted and tweaked his remarks, there was attempt to spread the message that he sought to seek the reservation policy.

The BJP and RSS were quick to reject the reports, but their views were not given any importance. Those, who read Bhagwat’s interview on Organiser, have come up with the conclusion, which lists two key points. We have listed those below.

* Interest groups are formed in a democracy to fulfill some aspirations. That’s absolutely fine. But, at the same time, we must think about the larger interests of the nation and welfare of all. We should not strive to fulfill our aspiration at the cost of others. Government must ensure to takes everyone into confidence so that there is no agitation against it.

* Reservation for socially backward classes was a necessity. But, it was not implemented properly. Rather, it was always politicized for narrow gains. Now, there is a need to form a committee with members of all sections of the society. They should decide which categories have already taken the benefits of reservation and which have not. It should be looked into whether the real beneficiaries are deprived of the benefits of reservation policy. And, there is a need to see how long some categories need reservation.
