S. Jaishankar meets US NSA, discusses Bilateral Ties

Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar on Wednesday met US National Security Advisor (NSA) Lt Gen H. R. McMaster and discussed the issues including security, counter-terrorism and bilateral relations between the two countries.

Jaishankar also met Speaker of the House of Representatives Paul Ryan and discussed various issues, including ways to enhance the economic and defence cooperation between India and the U.S.

During his meeting with Jaishankar, Ryan expressed condolences of the U.S. House of Representatives over the death of Indian Engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla in Kansas shooting.

Jaishankar is on a four-day visit to US to hold talks with top officials over India’s concerns over the security of Indian nationals in the U.S. following a possible cut in H1B and L1 visas
