S Jaishankar to visit US; H1B Visa, Indians’ Safety on Agenda
Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar will leave for the US on a four-day visit from Tuesday to discuss key bilateral issues including safety of Indians and H1B and L1 visas which is used extensively by Indian IT professionals.
According to the official sources, Jaishankar would meet the Under-Secretary of State (political affairs) Thomas Shannon and other key officials in the Trump administration. He will also hold talks on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
This will be Jaishankar’s first visit to US since US President Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20.
