Despite full assurance of security by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the organizers have cancelled the music programme of Pakistani Singer Ghulam Ali, which was scheduled to be held in Mumbai on Friday.
Panache Media, the organizers of the Musical Concert, took the decision after meeting Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray. They confirmed that neither Ghulam Ali nor any Pakistani artiste will be performing at the October 9 event although the programme will go on as per the schedule.
Ghulam Ali reacted to the development, saying that “such controversies spoil people’s ‘sur’ (note). I am not angry, I am hurt. I never faced such situation, as everyone loves me and my music. Music can heal the pain and spread love and peace between India and Pakistan,” he said.
