Supreme Court admits ‘Mistake’ in Teesta Setalvad Hearing

The Supreme Court has admitted that it committed a ‘mistake’ on Sep 11 by hearing Teesta Setalvad’s case and extending her interim bail by 4 weeks. The case was supposed to be listed before a three-judge bench, but heard by the two-judge bench.

The apex court made the observation while hearing Teesta’s counsel Kapil Sibal’s petition, which sought further extension of her bail, as the relief ends on 15 October. Teesta is facing charges of misappropriation of funds at her NGO.
