External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj slammed the Congress and Gandhi Family during the debate on ‘LalitGate’ in Lok Sabha and targeted Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for his family’s “wrongdoings” in the past. She listed her defence in a meticulous way and said that she never flouted any rules.
Sushma turned the tables on Congress, slammed the Gandhi family and raised the quid pro issue. She blamed the Rajiv Gandhi Government for letting off Bhopal Gas Tragedy accused Anderson, citing later Congress leader Arjun Singh’s book. Arjun Singh was the CM of Madhya Pradesh during the tragedy and he had clearly written in his book how Rajiv allowed Anderson to escape from India.
Sushma also raised questions on then Finance Minister P Chidambaram and his wife Nalini Chidambaram’s impropriety case, as she represented Saradha Chit fund accused and many other cases. She cited Trinamool Congress’ objections in this matter.
Sushma asked Rahul to read his family history on his next vacation and then come back to ask his Mumma (Mother) what money his family took from Anderson and Quattrocchi. Sushma’s retort came in the reply to Rahul’s question (a few days ago) about the money they (Sushma & Family) received from Lalit Modi.
