Uttar Pradesh Government suspends IPS Amitabh Thakur

The Uttar Pradesh Government has suspended senior IPS Officer Amitabh Thakur, who had dared to expose Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav in a audio sting, where The former UP CM was heard threatening him. The UP Government first tried to implicate him in a rape case and finally suspended him for “indiscipline” after he decided to fight back and took on Mulayam Singh Yadav in public domain.

Amitabh Thakur is currently posted as IG, Civil Defence Department in Lucknow. He is also the founder of National RTI Forum, a grassroots anti-corruption organisation, based in Lucknow.
