West Central Railway eliminates All 118 Unmanned Level Crossings

The West Central Railway (WCR) with its headquarters at Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) became the first Railway Zone in the country to eliminate all 118 unmanned level crossings from its network. Out of the 118 unmanned level crossings, 80 were removed as on 1st April 2014. Remaining 38 were removed by 31st August 2015. This was achieved by constructing 33 Limited Height Sub Ways (LHS) and manning of 30 level crossings.
