20 killed, 13 injured in J&K Accident

ONI Bureau:  About 20 people were killed and 13 injured when the driver of an overcrowded mini bus lost control and fell into a 200-feet deep gorge at Kela Moth on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Saturday.

The mishap occurred when the bus was on its way to Ramban from Banihal.

The injured being shifted by chopper and rushed to nearby hospitals while eight persons have been airlifted to Jammu for further treatment.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat was personally monitoring the rescue operation. DC Showkat Aijaz Bhat inorrmed that ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh each will be provided to the kin of the deceased while Rs. 50,000 sanctioned for injured.
