2G Scam never happened; All Accused Acquitted

ONI Bureau: The entire 2G scam turned out to be a “Jumla”, as the Patiala House court acquitted all accused in the case, including A Raja and Kanimozhi as well as the senior officials. The court said the prosecution failed to prove the case. The CBI could not prove the money trail. It may appeal against the verdict in a higher court though.

The DMK celebrated the verdict, saying they stand vindicated today. Senior Congress leader and eminent lawyer Kapil Sibal, media magnified a false scam, backed by BJP and then CAG Vinod Rai, who later got benefits from the Modi Government. “It was Vinod Rai’s scam, we stand vindicated”, he added.

Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram also reacted to the judgement, saying he has been saying it all along that the 2G scam never happened. Kapil Sibal was proven right, as he always claimed the ‘Zero Sum Theory’ in 2G case.

The verdict came as a big relief for the Congress, as it can take high moral ground now. The party, which got a new lease of life following the Gujarat polls verdict, is expected to go aggressive on this issue to put the BJP in the dock.
