Atal Bihari Vajpayee cremated with full State Honours at Smriti Sthal in Delhi

ONI Bureau:  The mortal remains of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee were cremated with full state honours at Smriti Sthal in Delhi today.

The procession reached Smriti Sthal at around 3.45 pm and chiefs of three armed forces offered salutes to the departed soul.

Tricolour wrapped around mortal remains of Vajpayee handed over to his granddaughter Niharika.

The process for conducting last rites started at 4.00 pm. The last rites are being performed by Vajpayee’s foster daughter Namita Bhattacharya.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with BJP president Amit Shah and Home Minister Rajnath Singh was seen accompanied the vehicle from BJP headquarters to Smriti Sthal.

The leaders cutting across the party line paid last respects to Vajpayee ji at Smriti Sthal.
