Chhattisgarh Governor Balramji Das Tandon passes away at 90

ONI Bureau:  Chhattisgarh Governor Balramji Das Tandon breathed his last today. He was 90.

Tandon was admitted to Raipur Medical College on Monday and shifted to the ICU after his condition became critical today.

He was a RSS pracharak and leader of Bharatiya Janata Party from Punjab. Tandon was a founding member of the Jan Sangh in 1951, and served as secretary of Punjab Jan Sangh from 1951 to 1957.

Tandon was elected to Punjab Legislative Assembly from Amritsar in 1960, 1962, 1967, 1969, and 1977, and from Rajpura in 1997 reportedly.
