Cyclone Titli leaves 8 dead in Andhra Pradesh

ONI Bureau:  The ‘very severe’ cyclonic storm, ‘Titli’, left eight people dead in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.

While, a 55-year-old man died in a house collapse at Rotanasa village, a 62-year-old woman died after an uprooted tree fell on her at Gudivada Agraharam village in Srikakulam district reportedly.

Besides, six fishermen, who had put out to sea, were killed, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) informed today.

The South Central Railway as well as the East Coast Railway also cancelled several trains as over 2,000 electric poles were uprooted by strong winds. The telecommunication network has also been hit in the districts.

Horticulture crops and paddy suffered extensive damage in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram district.
