DUSU Elections 2018: ABVP wins 3 out of 4 Posts, including President

ONI Bureau: Amid high drama over EVM malfunctioning throughout the day, the BJP/RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has won 3 out of 4 posts, while Congress-affiliated NSUI won 1. ABVP won President, Vice President and Joint Secretary posts.

Ankiv Baisoya (ABVP) won the President’s post, while Shakti Singh from the same organisation won the Vice President’s post. Akash Chaudhary of NSUI won the Secretary’s post, while ABVP candidate Jyoti Chaudhary elected the Joint Secretary. The CYSS-AISA put up a spirited fight, but failed to win any seat.

Earlier, the counting was suspended several times after 6-8 EVMs developed fault. The NSUI students created a ruckus alleging EVM tampering by the ABVP to win polls. The AAP-backed CYSS and Left-leaning AISA also alleged rigging and EVM tampering by ABVP and demanded fresh polls.
