Glass Wall separates Kulbushan Jadhav & Family in Pakistan

ONI Bureau: Rogue nation Pakistan, which still enjoys the MFN (Most Favoured Nation) status from India, thanks to our soft political leadership over the years, allowed Kulbhushan Jadhav’s wife and mother to meet him, but through a glass wall.

Pakistan, which turned the meeting into a media spectacle in a desperate bid to improve its image on the global arena, could not find courage to allow Kulbhushan to meet his family in private or even touch or hug each other. Three cameras guarded the meeting while they were allowed to speak over phone.

Kulbhushan’s family, which travelled to Islamabad to meet him, would return shortly, as the meeting ended. However, question remains whether he is being allowed to get a free and fair trial or Pakistan is misleading the world.

Kulbhushan, an Indian national, was arrested in Balochistan, Pakistan in May 2016, over charges of terrorism and spying for India’s RAW. The Indian Government recognised Jadhav as a former naval officer, who was abducted by Pakistan’s ISI from Iran.

The Pak Military Court had sentenced Kulbhushan to death, but the matter is pending at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which already stayed his execution.
