India move to 77th Spot on World Bank ‘Ease of Doing Business’ Index

ONI Bureau: India made a jump of 23 places to secure 77th rank in the World Bank’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ rankings, inching closer to PM Modi’s dream of breaking into ‘Top 50’.

India new became the highest-ranked Economy in South Asia. Last year, India had jumped 30 ranks to break into ‘Top 100’ for the first time.

India made improvements on By 6 of the 10 parameters this year and found a place among the ‘Top 10’ improvers in the world for the second consecutive year.

The country also reduced the time and cost to export and import through various initiatives. The initiatives included implementation of electronic sealing of containers, upgrading of port infrastructure and allowing electronic document submission with digital signatures.
