Kerala Floods: Modi conducts Aerial Survey, declares Rs 500 Crores Immediate Aid

ONI Bureau:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday conducted aerial survey of the massive loss and destruction triggered by the torrential rains in Kerala where 324 people have died in last nine days.

Modi announced Rs 500 crore immediate aids for Kerala following a review meeting in Kochi with CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Minister KJ Alphons and other officials.

The Prime Minister also announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the next kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to those seriously injured from the Prime Minister National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

The Central Goverrnment announced Rs 100 crore earlier. Reportedly, Kerala is witnessing the worst flooding in 100 years.
