Nobel Prize for Medicine goes to cancer researchers from US, Japan

ONI Bureau:  The 2018 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded jointly to James P. Allison and Tasuku Honjo “for their discovery of cancer therapy by inhibition of negative immune regulation.”

James Allison of the US and Tasuku Honjo of Japan were awarded for discovering how the body’s immune system can fight against cancer.

Medicine is the first of the Nobel Prizes awarded each year.
