ONGC Chopper Crash: 6 Bodies Recovered

ONI Bureau: Six bodies, including those of ONGC Deputy General Managers Pankaj Garg and V K Bindu Lal Babu were recovered so far in connection with Pawan Hans Chopper Crash off the Mumbai coast. Efforts are on to trace the 7th body.

The Pawan Hans chopper carried 5 ONGC DGMs and two Pilots when it crashed in the Arabian Sea about 55km northwest of Juhu Airport yesterday.

The chopper was on its way to a production platform complex in Bombay High when tragedy struck. Voice recorder of the chopper has been recovered.

It is a sad and painful incident for ONGC. Information received till now shows that 4 bodies have been recovered. 7 people were there which included 5 senior ONGC officials and 2 pilots from Pawan Hans: Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas pic.twitter.com/XEdmMQUP2R

Union P&NG Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met the family of an ONGC employee who lost life in the crash. He also expressed deep condolences and grief over the tragedy.
