People of Odisha never approve Violence and Hooliganism

A disturbing trend can be seen in Odisha over the last few months with the ruling BJD workers led by some leaders taking the law into their hands. The BJD came to power on the plank of peace and development, as the people of Odisha rejected the Congress style of functioning. That’s the reason Congress is yet to make a comeback after 2000 and sinking every passing day.

While the BJP has been on an offensive to replace the Congress Party as the main Opposition party in the state, the BJD is falling into the trap by resorting to violence and use of force. That could backfire in the run up to panchayat polls and help the BJP emerge stronger in Odisha’s political scenario under Dharmendra Pradhan.

Why BJD is rattled today? Why they are fast adopting the Congress style of retaliation. As BJP has adopted democratic ways of protest, the BJD must counter them politically. The act of hooliganism will dent their image further and allow BJP gain public sympathy. Odisha has been a peaceful state. And, any party or organisation, which acts against this principle, would draw the ire of common people.
