PM’s Masterstroke: India with Balochistan

As a matter of fact, the successive Prime Ministers of India have never touched upon the sensitive issue of Balochistan. Even, very few of them talked about the Pak Occupied Kashmir (PoK). But, that convention, hesitation and confusion was finally broken, as PM Narendra Modi extended full support to people in Balochistan, who have been fighting against Pakistani oppression for over a decade or more.

There is little doubt that Pakistan is fomenting trouble in Kashmir by using the ISI and Army as well as funding the Separatist movement, citing human right violations. India has been a victim of this Pakistani design for several decades. But, whenever there was a trouble in Balochistan, Pakistan did not forget to put the blame on India’s RAW. For the first time, an Indian PM offered moral support to the cause of people in a foreign country by invoking human rights violation issue.

It’s a massive political masterstroke by PM Modi – a clear departure in India’s Kashmir policy. If Pakistan can openly intervene in Kashmir, why not India? Modi’s move rattled Pakistan beyond imagination. They never expected India to take such a non-conventional stand. Pakistan must realise the ground reality. If it plays with fire, its own house will be burnt. They will find themselves at the receiving end always. India has nothing to lose.
