President Kovind approves imposition of Governor’s rule in J&K

ONI Bureau: The Union Home Ministry on Wednesday clarified that President Ram Nath Kovind has given approval for imposition of Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect.

Earlier on Tuesday evening, Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra suggested to the Ministry of Home Affairs that Governor’s Rule should be imposed for six months in the state after the PDP-BJP coalition collapsed.

The Jammu and Kashmir Constitution provides for Governor’s Rule unlike other states which see President’s Rule.
