Rajasthan: 50 people tested positive for Zika Virus in Jaipur dist

ONI Bureau:  As many as 18 more tested positive for the Zika virus, taking the total number of infected persons to 50 in Rajasthan’s Jaipur district. As many as 11 pregnant women are among those infected.

The figures were issued by the Rajasthan Health department’s Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health, Veenu Gupta on Friday.

A disease caused by Zika virus is spread through mosquito bites. Zika virus mainly transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, including Aedes aegypti that carries dengue. Most people infected with Zika will have only mild symptoms including fever, rash, joint pain and red eyes.
