Ramayana can’t be a Myth, as Ram Setu is Real

ONI Bureau: In a major boost to the claims of existence of Ram Setu during the Ramayana era, which was rubbished by many in India, the Science Channel quoting the NASA images, confirmed that the man-made bridge is real and does exist, connecting India to Sri Lanka. In Ramayana, it was clearly written that Lord Ram build the setu to rescue Devi Sita, who was imprisoned by Ravana in Lanka (modern day Sri Lanka).

The video released by the Science Channel says, “Are the ancient Hindu myths of a land bridge connecting India and Sri Lanka true? Scientific analysis suggests they are”.

Citing images from a Nasa satellite, the video claims that investigators have found a line of rocks 30 miles long between Sri Lanka and India. The 7,000-year-old rocks are sitting on sand that is 4,000-years-old, it claims.

While the development came as a big relief for pro-Hindutva people who have been fighting to save Ram Setu. BJP MP Subramanian Swamy led the battle for years, while then UPA Govt almost destroyed the Hindu belief in 2008.

DMK leader TR Baalu, whose party was a part of the government, had filed a crucial affidavit in the Supreme Court, saying “the Ram Sethu was destroyed by Ram himself, and that it was not proved by the petitioners that the structure was integral to Hinduism”.

Thanks to the massive political outrage by BJP, which forced the UPA Government to withdraw the affidavit. The DMK was adamant on the ‘Sethusamudram Project’, which began and proposed to create a shipping channel by dredging a walkway connecting India and Sri Lanka. The project would eventually led to breaking of ‘Ram Setu’ to build that project. Subramanian Swamy reacted to the development, saying he stands vindicated.

When Modi Government came to power in 2014, they decided against breaking the Sethusamudram Shipping Canal Project, but make efforts to see that the navigation system is put in place without damaging it.

As it’s confirmed that Ram Setu is real and was man-made, not a natural phenomenon, the Hindu belief in Ramayana would be strengthened further. If Ram Setu is real, Ramayana can’t be a myth.
