108 Ambulance Services Staff cease work in 14 Districts

108-AmbulanceBhubaneswar, Oct 16: The drivers and staff of 108 Ambulance services, emergency medical services, are on stir demanding pay hike. The strike entered second day on Friday disrupting emergency ambulance services in 14 districts in Odisha.

Following the work cease by the employees of the 108 Ambulance services, the districts – Agul, Balangir, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur , Jajpur, Kendrapada, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Sundargarh were affected.

Joining the stir, drivers, helpers and technicians have demanded pay hike, timely increment, security and other issues including stopping of illegal retrenchment. Notably, the employees of the 108 Ambulance Services  are employed by an agency, the management of the agency has been trying to restore the normalcy in the emergency services.
