12-hour Bandh over Ration Card Scam affects normal life in Rayagada

Normal life was thrown out of gear during a 12-hr bandh called by the BJP today in protest against irregularities in the distribution of ration cards under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).

The commuters had a very tough time to move anywhere as traffic came to standstill because of the bandh. Shops, schools and offices remained closed in the areas of Rayagada, Gunupur, Ramanaguda and Padmapur.

The BJP activists also demanded to include the eligible beneficiaries in the ration card list.
