1,724 Police posts in Odisha to be filled up through Direct Recruitment

Odisha Government has approved direct recruitment of 1,724 vacant posts in the State Police. All these positions would be filled up through direct recruitment.

Out of total vacant posts, 1,252 positions are Civil Police Constables, 184 Sub-Inspectors (SIs), 166 Signal Constables, Gurkha Sepoy in OSAP Second Battalion in Jharsuguda, 20 Sub-Inspector (Armed) and 10 Special Police Officers (SPOs) for PCR Mobile in Commissionerate of Police, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

The Gurkha Sepoys, Signal Constables and Civil Police Constables will be recruited by Odisha Police  Selection Board, whereas the Staff Selection Commission will conduct recruitment for all the SI posts. The 10 SPOs will be recruited by Police Commissionerate.
