The COVID-19 disease continued to spread across Odisha as the state recorded 15 more positive cases, taking the tally to 20.
As per the Health and Family Welfare department, seven close contacts of the Suryanagar case (including wife, daughter and tenants), three persons of Bomikhal, one case in Cuttack, one case of Puri, one in Jajpur and two cases of Bhadrak tested positive.
15 COVID Positive cases confirmed today:
- 7 close contacts of Suryanagar case (including wife, daughter and tenants)
- 3 persons of Bomikhal
- 1 case of Cuttack
- 1 case of Puri
- 1 case of Jajpur
- 2 cases of Bhadrak (total positive cases in the State 20)
The official handle of Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Odisha later declared that the state has so far tested 1395 patients. Out of the 282 samples tested today, 237 were tested at RMRC, 25 at AIIMS and 20 at SCB. The department also published an warning to follow lockdown rules and stay at home.
“Staying at home is the only way we can slow the spread of #COVID19. Stay at home and save yourself and your family. #odishaFightsCorona,” the Health department added.
Subsequently, in the evening, BMC sealed Bomikhal area. According to a notification issued by the agency, the road between Cafe Coffee Day(Near Ekamra Hall) to Jharpada Canal Road, Jharpada Canal Road to Jharpada Durga Mandap, Jharpada Durga Mandap to Cuttack-Puri Road (DCB Bank Square) and Cuttack-Puri Road (DCB Bank Square) to Cafe Coffee Day(Near Ekamra Hall) were announced a restricted zone.
