At least 20 villages in Odisha’s Balasore and Jajpur districts have been worst affected for the past three days due to flood situation. Although there is an improvement in the flood situation in North Odisha, as the rains have receded, these villages remain marooned.
The Collectors of all Northern districts of the state, are constantly monitoring the situation and making all efforts to shift people to safer places. Adequate arrangements are being made to provide them with food and shelter.
Situation in Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj is improving fast. 10 villages under Jaleswar block are still under the water. According to government reports, about 4.79 lakh people in North Odisha are affected by the floods. At least three people have died so far, while one is missing.
