22 Panchayat Samiti Members resign in Keonjhar District

Champua-Panchayat-SamitiDue to the monopoly attitude and negligence in various developmental projects of the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Champua block in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Monday, as many as 22 Panchayat Samiti members have resigned along with Champua Block Chairman Motilal Singh Laguri.

The members alleged that the BDO was neck deep in corruption in the Gopabandhu Gramin Yojana and many other developmental works.

In his defense, the BDO Kushal Chandra Nayak said that all the developmental works are being carried out as per government guidelines.

Panchayat Samiti members demanded immediate intervention of the State Government to resolve the crisis as it will affect development activities in the locality.
