3 die, 20 injured as School Bus overturns near Chandahandi Ghat

ONI Bureau: At least 3 people (all adults) died while 20 others were injured when a school bus overturned near the Chandahandi Ghat near Jharigam in Nabarangpur district. All injured have been rushed to various hospitals in Jharigam, Umerkote and Nabarangpur.

Although no kids died in the accident, some of them are said to be seriously injured. Some people were trapped under the bus, who were later rescued. The deceased have been identified as Lalit Mohan Patnaik of Nabarangpur, Rina Nayak and Niranjan.

The bus carried students and parents as well as staff from Aurobindo Purnanga Sikhya Kendra, Umerkote. It was going to Chandahandi to participate in a Patha Chakra when the incident occurred.
