3 killed in Boudh Barrage Mishap; CM declares Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia

In a tragic incident, three 3 labourers were killed and two others critically injured as a crane engaged in the construction of Bagha irrigation project at Sagada in Boudh district overturned today morning.

The incident took place when a crane engaged in the work overturned due to over loading.

All the deceased were identified as residents of Aliguma village under Nabarangpur district. The injured have been shifted to VIMSAR, Burla, for further treatment.

Expressing grief over the tragic crane accident Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for the family of each deceased and Rs 50,000 financial assistance for injured people.

The Chief Minister also ordered the Chief Engineer of Water Resources Department to submit a probe report over the major mishap within three days.
