3 more Farmers commit suicide over crop loss in Odisha

Farmer-Suicide-BargarhInsight Bureau:  Farmer suicides continue unabated in Odisha as three more farmer has allegedly committed suicide in Sambalpur, Sundergarh and Bargarh districts.

Reportedly, Kahnu Munda, from Rasanpur village in Sambalpur district consumed poison last evening over crop loss due to recent unseasonal rain before harvest. He had been undergoing treatment at the VIMSAR. Later, succumbed early Monday morning.

While the farmer Manoj Singh of Kuarnkela village in Sundergarh district committed suicide by consuming poison over debt burden and crop loss due to Pest attack.

Another farmer Pradeep Khamari of Behera village under Khuntapalli Panchayat in Bargarh district ended life by consuming poison over crop loss after pest attack.

There are 13th such farmer suicide cases reported since October in Odisha.
