Biju Babu never believed in Dreams: Dr. Damodar Rout

On the death anniversary of legendary Biju Patnaik, veteran BJD leader, Biju Babu’s long-term associate and Odisha Excise Minister Dr. Damodar Rout stirred up a hornet’s nest, as he launched a scathing attack (although indirectly) at CM and BJD President Naveen Patnaik.

Dama Babu has been vocal against the government policies and functioning. He was the first in BJD to hit out at Food & Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Dasburma over alleged chit fund links. Later, Damodar Rout skipped the Rs 5 Aahar launch programme in Paradip, saying it goes against Odia Swabhimaan.

Today, Dama Babu said late Biju Patnaik never believed in dreams. He was a realistic person and believed in work. It was not prerogative to see dreams, he said in clear terms, bringing more embarrassment for Naveen Patnaik, who has been wooing people on the issue of ‘Biju Babu’s dreams’.

Naveen and BJD always claim that they are trying to fulfil Biju Patnaik’s dreams in Odisha and get massive support too. However, Dama Babu’s statement has put them in a tight spot.
